20 Most Valuable Squads in Football Today

Published

on

The world’s most valuable squads in football have been updated with six Premier League teams, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, ranking inside the top 10 teams.

England’s top-flight division is arguably seen as the best league in the world; therefore, it’s no surprise to see so many gifted individuals make the switch to the Premier League to further develop their careers. There are many world-class stars who ply their trade in the country, including Rodri, Erling Haaland, and Gianluigi Donnarumma – and that’s just from City.

Unsurprisingly, the Manchester giants feature high up in Transfermarkt’s most valuable squads. Ahead of what is set to be a busy transfer window under Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid find themselves in the top five, while Aston Villa and Newcastle also make the list.

Juventus

Squad value – £431.9 million

Juventus have had a tumultuous few years, recovering from a 10-point deduction in 2023 because of the club’s transfer dealings. Despite interest from top teams in Europe for striker Dusan Vlahovic, the club managed to keep hold of the Serbian – for the time being at least.

While stars such as Federico Chiesa have left the club as they look to make as much money as possible on players whose contracts are set to expire soon, the arrivals of Teun Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz have helped the former dominant force in Serie A build a squad worth just under half a billion pounds.

19

RB Leipzig

Squad value – £436.3 million

Despite losing key players Dani Olmo and Mohamed Simakan to Barcelona and Al-Nassr a couple summers ago, the Bundesliga giants somehow find themselves just inside the top 20. Following those departures, RB Leipzig used the funds to sign the likes of Lutsharel Geertruida, Antonio Nusa and young prodigy Assan Ouedraogo. This has only added to their squad value, which is just short of the £440 million mark.

Add those names to the squad that already contained the likes of Peter Gulacsi, David Raum, and Christoph Baumgartner, it’s no surprise to see that the German side are one of just two clubs from the country that feature in the top 20 (no bonus points for guessing the other).

18

Aston Villa

Squad value – £459.6 million

It was a season to remember for Unai Emery’s men as Aston Villa returned to the pantheon of European football thanks to their comfortable Europa League final win over Freiburg. Unai Emery continues to help the club punch above their weight and, although they operate under strict financial constraints, they still boast one of the most valuable squads in world football.

Now, the Villains have dropped back down ever so slightly to 18th, but their hopes of continuing to upset the apple cartle in England, and abroad, will surely see them bump their stock this summer.

17

Crystal Palace

Squad value – £477.7 million

Crystal Palace celebrate with the Conference League trophy

After a shaky midpoint of the season as they came to terms with Marc Guehi leaving and Oliver Glasner announcing he wouldn’t be signing a new deal to remain their boss, Crystal Palace have certainly rediscovered their groove by winning the Europa Conference League upon the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.

A major part of that is due to the role of Adam Wharton and Ismaila, who are, unsurprisingly, among the highest valued players in the squad after stepping up to the plate. As a result of their fantastic performances of late, the Eagles have soared into 17th spot.

16

Bournemouth

Squad value – £489 million

Eli Kroupi Junior is among the most valuable teenagers in world football right now, alongside Bournemouth teammate Rayan. While them two are the crown jewels of a young and exciting Cherries squad, it is being heavily rumoured that they could join manager Andoni Iraola in heading towards the exit.

The south coast side have been a stepping stone club for many years now, and while their squad value has inflated since qualifying for the Europa League against all odds, bigger clubs are expected to raid them for their most prized assets.

15

Brighton & Hove Albion

Squad value – £489.8 million

The Seagulls entered a new regime fairly recently as Roberto de Zerbi was replaced by the youngest manager in Premier League history, Fabian Hurzeler. While many of the key figures at the club still remain, the new head coach has been well backed in the transfer market, leading to his side maintaining their status on this list.

The South Coast outfit used the money wisely during his tenure so far, signing the likes of Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer and Georginio Rutter for a club-record fee. A lot of Brighton‘s current crop, including Jack Hinshelwood and Simon Adingra, are young stars who will no doubt be sold for a fortune to a bigger club in the future – given their potential. Their buy low sell high policy keeps the club ticking, and there are very few who do it better.

14

Atletico Madrid

Squad value – £498.4 million

It may come as a little bit of a shock to find Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid so low on this list, especially given that the Spanish giants boast a squad that regularly makes it deep in the Champions League. The deal to bring Julian Alvarez to the club was the largest since the one that saw Joao Felix come through the door, while there was also the arrivals of Ademola Lookman and Alex Baena for big money too.

For this to happen though, there had to be some major departures too. Had it not been for the departures of the aforementioned Felix and the likes of Alvaro Morata and Samu Omordion in recent windows, Los Colchoneros may have ranked even slightly higher.

13

Nottingham Forest

Squad value – £499.2 million

Who had Nottingham Forest competing for a spot in the Champions League on their bingo card? Not since the days of Brian Clough had the Garibaldi come close to sniffing a place in Europe’s premier tournament, but overperforming stars such as Chris Wood and Matz Sels made that a distinct possibility just two seasons ago, before their owner saw red mist and sacked Nuno Espirito Santo over a disagreement.

They have cycled through managers like it earns them points since his departure, and that means a valuable squad has hardly had a moment’s peace before the tactics’ sheet is thrown in the air again.

12

Inter Milan

Squad value – £558.8 million

Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella

Last season was a success overall for Inter, with them completing a dominant Serie A season on top. The Scudetto would’ve made up for the disappointment fans suffered following the 2023 and 2025 Champions League final heartaches.

Despite losing some key names over the years, the Italian giants maintain a strong position of wealth. Their captain, Lautaro Martinez, is of particular importance as the World Cup winner continues to be considered among the very best in the business at scoring goals. As well as him, Inter have Marcus Thuram, Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu, who all contribute significantly to the club’s overall value.

11

Newcastle United

Squad value – £601.2 million

Sandro Tonali looks on

Despite finishing in the top four in 2023 and being continuously backed financially after a League Cup final win the year after, the Magpies haven’t continued on their upward trajectory since. Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes are the club’s most valuable players, but they have lost a lot of worth since Anthony Gordon’s move to Barcelona was confirmed.

Their value could continue to decrease over time too, with Newcastle having to sell in order to continue complying with financial fair play regulations. While they’re eager to keep hold of their talents beyond this summer, their hands may be forced in order to adhere to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules, which has already seen them lose the likes of Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh in recent times.

Tyson Fury’s Final Opponent Before Facing Anthony Joshua ‘Leaked’

Published

on

By

The opponent for Tyson Fury‘s final warm-up bout before facing Anthony Joshua has been leaked, and it’s likely to cause controversy.

‘The Gypsy King’ has signed a contract to fight ‘AJ’ before the end of 2026, with the pair finally set to deliver one of the most-anticipated fights in British boxing history.

However, prior to Fury vs Joshua, both men will have warm-up fights. Joshua already has a clash with Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga booked for the 25th of July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury has confirmed that he will also compete this summer. The 37-year-old is set to return to the ring on the 1st of August in Dublin, Ireland.

Identity of Tyson Fury’s Next Opponent Revealed

Tyson Fury

Details of his planned opponent for that bout have now emerged, and it’s safe to say that few will be expecting Tyson to have any problems getting the victory.

Per Boxing News, the former unified world heavyweight champion will face undefeated opposition in the warm-up bout. However, at 41 years old, Nelson Hysa is well past his physical prime.

Holder of the unheralded WBO Global Heavyweight Championship, Hysa is no stranger to Fury, with the pair having sparred together on multiple occasions.

The fight has yet to be officially signed, but the veteran heavyweight is said to be the leading contender to be Fury’s final obstacle before the Joshua clash, with final details now being worked out.

In truth, though, Hysa is a downgrade in terms of opposition compared to Arslanbek Makhmudov, who Fury beat easily in his comeback fight in April.

Tyson Fury Has Previously Shared the Ring With His Next Opponent

Tyson Fury

Curiously, Hysa is ranked as the best heavyweight in Albania, sitting just above Joshua’s warm-up foe, Prenga. However, it remains to be seen whether he will have the same level of ambition as his compatriot when it comes to their summer fights.

Prenga has vowed to ‘cancel’ Fury vs Joshua by knocking ‘AJ’ out in their July clash, stating:

“Brother, it’s like going from one to 100. Everyone will see on July 25 who I really am. They chose me as a warm-up fight for him and Tyson Fury but that’s not going to happen. I am going to cancel that, that’s for sure.”

Nelson Hysa

Hysa may not be quite so keen to spring a shock. Not only has he trained alongside Fury, but he also recently became stablemates with Tyson, having signed with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions.

Another clue the contest may have more of an exhibition feel comes in that it will serve as the co-main event on a card headlined by Pierce O’Leary vs Mark Chamberlain for the IBO Super Lightweight Championship.

If, as expected, both Fury and Joshua come through their respective fights, all eyes will be on the fight the world really wants to see as the two biggest names in British boxing finally settle their differences.

Lewis Hamilton Seriously Slammed For ‘Hypocritical’ Billionaire Comments

Published

Lewis Hamilton has come under fire after comments he made about “the disparity between the wealthy and the poor” resurfaced over the same weekend that his girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, was in attendance to watch him race for the first time.

Hamilton picked up his third podium of the season this past weekend around the streets of Monaco and seems to really be building some momentum in the famous Ferrari seat. However, comments made regarding wealthy billionaires resurfaced from a podcast appearance three-and-a-half years ago, and it’s seen him receive plenty of stick for his remarks.

What Did Lewis Hamilton Say About Billionaires

Lewis Hamilton Speaking

On Jay Shetty’s podcast, Hamilton said: “One of the things that I struggle with every day is that there is such a disparity between the wealthy and the poor.

“When you drive around LA, there’s still so many people living on the streets. You shouldn’t be able to have billions. I think there should be a limit to how much you can have because there’s enough to go around for everyone.”

These comments emerged over the Monaco Grand Prix race weekend, as his girlfriend Kim Kardashian is worth an estimated $1.9 billion, having built a career in TV and clothing industries, among other pursuits.

A lot of the attention from this weekend was focused on Hamilton’s partner, who was attending a race for the first time since the relationship became public knowledge. Following the end of the race, and a brilliant performance from the Brit, he was seen embracing Kardashian in celebration of a great finish.

It wasn’t all good for Ferrari, however, as his teammate, and Monaco local Charles Leclerc crashed out after seemingly being thwarted by some damaged track, causing him to collide with the barriers and retire from his home race.

The influencer’s behaviour hasn’t gone down well…

The total net worth of the couple is believed to be around £1.83 billion, and this combined wealth has caused some fans to be critical of the comments previously made by the seven-time world champion.

One wrote: “Both the amount of hypocrisy here and the lack of pushback is really something to behold.”

Another user commented: “Umm… a bit rich coming from Hamilton. What’s the net worth of your girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, again?”

The pair have been friends for over a decade, and at the beginning of this year they were seen together at a New Year’s party. They went public with their relationship at the Super Bowl in February, and it has been all up from there for the couple!

Next up for Hamilton is the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, where he will be hoping his stellar form for Ferrari can continue on from Monaco.

Liverpool Want Goncalo Inacio Deal

Published

on

By

Liverpool are set to enter the market in need of fresh options, with Caught Offside reporting that centre-back will be a priority position for the club this summer.

It comes as the Reds are looking to rebuild the defensive ranks, after the exits of Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate were confirmed at the end of their current contracts.

While the left-back role looks relatively secure, with Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas featuring there, the centre-back options are looking slightly more thin.

Konate’s exit means Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, who are both into the final year of their deals, are the only experienced options available for Liverpool.

That is then backed up by the arrival of youngster Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes this summer, and the return of Giovanni Leoni from a serious knee injury.

With that in mind, it appears as though other options could be on the cards at Liverpool to help bolster the position for the short-term and the long-term.

Liverpool Shortlist Goncalo Inacio

Goncalo Inacio

While Liverpool look into the market for possible options to bolster the backline, the report from Caught Offside claims that Sporting CP defender Goncalo Inacio is among those on the club’s shortlist.

It’s claimed that the Reds want someone who is comfortable progressing the ball from the back, while the fact he is left-footed would help complement the ability of Van Dijk on the right.

Inacio is a six-foot-one-inch-tall centre-back who, at just 24 years old, already has plenty of experience under his belt after working his way through the Sporting CP ranks.

The defender has played over 250 games for the Portuguese side, while he has also become a regular for the Portugal national team in recent years.

It’s claimed that Inacio has a £52 million release clause, which could make him an affordable option for Liverpool, while his profile has been described as “rare” in recent times.

It’s no surprise that Premier League rivals have also taken notice, as Manchester United and Chelsea have previously been linked, but the Reds could have an edge.

The fact they need a replacement for Konate opens up that door, while their rivals could be focusing on other areas within their squads this summer.

Inacio isn’t the only centre-back on Liverpool’s radar, however.

Andoni Iraola applauds Bournemouth supporters

While Inacio has been shortlisted as a centre-back target for Liverpool this summer, he isn’t the only star defender that the club are looking at.

The report claims that Napoli defender Sam Beukema is an option as part of a wider shortlist, having been linked with a move under previous manager Arne Slot.

There are also previous links to youngster Luka Vuskovic, who could leave Tottenham this summer, as well as Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

It’s unclear whether any of those options will be intensified over the coming weeks, and none may be as easy as triggering the release clause for Inacio.

However, Liverpool are looking to future-proof their backline, and the links with players are unlikely to end any time soon.
