Barcelona Star Rips Into ‘Robbing’ Real Madrid Ahead of El Clasico
Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has infuriated Real Madrid supporters with his comments ahead of the El Clasico on Sunday afternoon. Just two points separate the top two sides in La Liga after 11 games this season, and so the 261st edition of this historic fixture looks to have every chance of living up to its namesake.
Yamal, as brilliant as he is – finishing runner-up to Ousmane Dembele in the 2025 Ballon d’Or and already among the favourites for next year’s Golden Ball – has never shied away from controversy during his formative years. He previously claimed that Madrid could not “handle” Barca last season, after Hansi Flick’s side came from behind to beat their rivals and win the Copa del Rey in April.
After ruffling feathers with that remark, he added a few days later, as per ESPN: “While I’m winning, they can’t say anything – when they beat me, they can.” Now, it seems little has changed this season, as the 18-year-old has once again made some bold claims about Xabi Alonso’s side.
Lamine Yamal Fans Flames With Real Madrid ‘Rob and Complain’ Jibe
Ahead of this weekend’s grudge match, Yamal appeared on the Kings League’s YouTube channel – the competition run by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique – where he has recently become president of his own team, La Capital.
When asked by Ibai Llanos, the owner of Porcinos and La Capital’s rival team this weekend, whether his opponents were comparable to Real Madrid, he responded (see below):
“Yes, they rob [a reference to refereeing decisions], they complain, they do things…”
Llanos, a well-known Madrid supporter, immediately pushed back, asking, “Real Madrid steals?” To which Yamal doubled down, laughing nervously before reaffirming, “Well, let’s see, let’s see.”
The comment has since gone viral across Spanish media and social platforms, and will no doubt have stoked the rhetoric heading into this weekend, where a win for Flick and co. would see the Catalan giants leapfrog their rivals and edge into a one-point lead at the summit of Spanish football.
“Bro woke up and chose generational levels of disrespect,” one X user commented, as another added: “He’s lucky Pepe and Sergio Ramos aren’t still playing.” Elsewhere, a third remarked: “Coming from a player whose club was found guilty of paying referees, wasn’t relegated, and yet has the guts to rant about others.”
En route to winning a La Liga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana treble last season, Hansi Flick’s side recorded four straight victories over Los Blancos. They beat their rivals 4-0 and 4-3 in the league, 3-2 in extra-time in the Copa del Rey final, and 5-2 in the Supercopa showpiece.
La Blaugranas could now match their longest-ever winning run against Real in all competitions, having only previously ever won five straight Clasicos under Pep Guardiola from 2008 to 2010. Flick, meanwhile, is one of only two coaches to win his first four matches in the entire history of the fixture, for either team. The other, of course, was Guardiola, whose five consecutive victories came in his first five Clasicos.

Man Utd in Close Contact to Sign Juventus Star Francisco Conceicao
Manchester United are still looking at the possibility of adding a new forward to their squad this summer.
The Red Devils have prioritised a midfield rebuild and so far have signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, while goalkeeper Karl Darlow and young winger Tynan Thompson have also arrived.
But the club are still pushing to make more additions for Michael Carrick as they prepare to return to the Champions League, and bolstering their forward line to ensure they’re not short on numbers in what they hope will be a long season remains something they have on their list of wants for the summer transfer window.
Man Utd Eyeing Conceicao
According to Fussball Daten, Man Utd have a strong interest in Juventus winger Francisco Conceicao.
Conceicao, who has been described as a ‘diamond’, was one of Portugal’s better performers in a disappointing World Cup campaign this summer, and has enjoyed a good spell at Juventus since joining from FC Porto in 2024, scoring 11 goals in 82 appearances.
The Portugal international has now emerged as a target for RB Leipzig as they look to replace Yan Diomande, who is on the verge of a stunning £100m+ move to Real Madrid, and it’s believed they are ready to pay around €50m (£43m) to take him to the Bundesliga.
However, it’s reported that Man Utd have been in close contact with the player’s camp about a move to Old Trafford. No formal offer has been made at this stage, but he is among the names being considered as United look to bolster their attack. Personal terms would not be expected to be an issue, either.
United were looking at a deal to sign Crysencio Summerville before Al Hilal joined the race and gazumped everyone by agreeing a £65m+ deal with West Ham. While Man Utd are keen to add to their attack, the future of Marcus Rashford may yet prove influential in any formal moves being made.

Conceicao Could Be Excellent Signing
Man Utd need an injection of pace in their attack, and someone who can play on either wing, take a man on and be a goal threat would be ideal.
Conceicao ticks all of those boxes, and at £43m he would be a value signing in this market. An attack consisting of Rashford, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Amad, Benjamin Sesko, and potentially Joshua Zirkzee would provide plenty of options for the manager to choose from, and plenty of quality to win games.
United will have to be alert to his situation if they’re serious, because Leipzig will want to get a deal over the line quickly. But Bruno Fernandes knows the winger well, which may help swing things in their favour, and this is one to watch in the coming weeks.

Ibrahim Mbaye Wants to Join Liverpool Alongside Barcola
Liverpool are in the hunt to bolster their forward options this summer, and PSG star Bradley Barcola is not the only player who wants to swap Paris for Anfield.
The Reds have added Victor Munoz and Jeremy Jacquet to their squad so far this summer, but have lost all of Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson, leaving new manager Andoni Iraola with some major gaps to fill.
The attack has been made a priority with Munoz, Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha the only first-team wingers in the squad, and while Barcola is the top target at the club, his PSG teammate has now made it clear he wants to join him on Merseyside.
Liverpool Offered Mbaye Deal
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye this summer.
Mbaye, who has been described as a ‘phenomenon’, wants to leave the back-to-back European champions in search of more regular first-team football in this window, and the Ligue 1 giants are ready to let him move on after failing to agree a new contract with him.
The teenager has been offered to a number of clubs as a result, and exploratory talks have been held between the player’s camp and Anfield chiefs.
Mbaye has made it clear in discussions that Liverpool are a club he would like to join. The Reds’ recruitment staff have scouted Mbaye extensively during his time in Paris and feel that he could be of help to them, although he is not among their leading targets.
The Senegal international, who played and scored at this summer’s World Cup, is expected to assess all of his options in the coming weeks, with more clubs expected to enter the race for his signature.

Mbaye to Liverpool Could Be Shrewd
While Liverpool are currently in need of players who can improve the starting line up, which is why Barcola is being chased so hard, they also need depth.
Mbaye has got bags of potential and is widely considered to be one of the top attacking talents in Europe, and alongside Ngumoha, it could help to set up the Liverpool front line for the next decade.
If a deal can be reached for the right price, and Mbaye is happy with not being a guaranteed starter but getting minutes to help balance the load of the squad while developing, then it could be a shrewd bit of business for all involved.

Man Utd in Advanced Talks to Let Joshua Zirkzee Leave
Manchester United are in advanced talks with Juventus over a deal that would see Joshua Zirkzee leave, according to The Sun.
The Red Devils have had a strong summer window so far, bringing in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow, and Tynan Thompson to strengthen their squad, and while they are still keen to make more additions, they are also looking at ways to trim the fat.
One star who has emerged as a possible option to leave is Zirkzee, who has struggled for regular first-team football since joining the club, and a deal is now edging towards completion.
Man Utd In Advanced Talks for Zirkzee to Leave
Zirkzee, who has been described as ‘elite’, started just five Premier League games during the 2025/26 season, and has scored just nine times in 75 appearances for the club since his £36.5m move from Bologna two summers ago.
The Netherlands international missed out on a place in the World Cup squad and wants to get back to playing regularly, with a number of Italian sides showing an interest in taking him back to Serie A.
Juventus have now emerged as the frontrunner for his signature after they ended their pursuit of PSG star Randal Kolo Muani following drawn-out talks with the European champions, and talks are understood to be advanced over an initial season-long loan deal which would include a £30m option to buy.
Zirkzee’s representatives have responded positively to the approach from Juventus, and the 25-year-old would be open to making the switch to the Allianz Stadium.
The striker feels that the Italian league suits his style of play better and would be the right step for his career at this stage. Zirkzee currently finds himself behind Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Marcus Rashford in the pecking order of the attack, and an exit is expected.

Zirkzee Has No Man Utd Future
Zirkzee is a forward who has got plenty of talent, and his goal in the pre-season friendly win over Rosenborg shows exactly why the club bought him two years ago.
But the Premier League is a physically demanding and intense league, and Zirkzee’s style is more about style and technique than that. He hasn’t fitted in well, and the way Michael Carrick wants his team to play means he’s never going to be a super important player, or one that starts regularly.
A move away makes sense for all parties, but Man Utd are already thin on numbers in attack, and they must make sure that they replace him adequately before the transfer deadline.
