Major League Baseball side the Washington Nationals have identified and banned a fan that displayed a racist banner at a recent game during the Salute to Service.
The incident took place during the Nationals’ 7-3 home loss to the Baltimore Orioles. The banner was unfurled on the upper deck, before an usher quickly attempted to take it down and confiscate it.
Three individuals, however, proceeded to keep the banner out the reach of the usher and then quickly fled the stadium. The incident took place during the fourth inning Salute to Service, a tribute to veterans and current members of the military.
The banner, which appeared along the front-base line, called for the deportation of “100+ million” and included a promotion for a white nationalist webpage.
The Nationals released the following statement after the incident: “The Washington Nationals vehemently condemn discriminatory and hateful rhetoric, and we strive to make our home field a safe space for our fans.”
The MLB side have confirmed they will look into the incident further with the Metropolitan Police Department.
Conservative Influencer Takes Credit For MLB Banner Stunt
Online, Conservative influencer Jake Lang took credit for the racist stunt. Lang previously served four years in prison as a participant in the 6th of January attack on the Capitol building, but had his charges dismissed by President Donald Trump.
Lang has since been issued a summons for failing to appear in court after making threatening comments towards a Capitol police officer at the anniversary event. He is also due at trial in Minneapolis on suspicion of a felony for destroying a $6,000 anti-ICE ice sculpture that was put up in front of the Minnesota State Capitol.
A Cleveland Guardians fan has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.
On X, Lang gloated about the banner: “The Crusaders have just completed our first MASSIVE FLAG DROP at the Washington Nationals MLB game!!!!! THE CROWD WENT ABSOLUTELY NUTS!!!! (They might have killed us if we didn’t get escorted out…)”
The banner simply read: “Save America. Deport 100+ million.”
It is not clear how the banner made its way into the stadium as bags must be clear and meet certain sizing guidelines.
The stadium’s magnetometers would not have been alerted to a Nylon sign either.
The Washington Nationals have been clear in the past over what signs and banners are allowed within National Park. Their strict policy states that their stadium is “not a forum or place for use by the public at large for assembly and speech, for use by certain speakers or for the discussion of certain subjects.”
The guidelines also state that messages on banners must relate to either Major League Baseball, players or staff, broadcasters, or family-friendly messages celebrating events such as birthdays or engagements.
Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a summer move for another exciting Brazilian forward alongside Savinho, according to reports from the South American nation.
Tottenham have already played their first pre-season match, beating MK Dons in a behind-closed-doors friendly earlier this week, with new signing Mateus Fernandes scoring a stunning winning goal in the 1-0 victory.

The north London outfit remain determined to bring Savinho in from Manchester City, a year on from their first attempt to sign the Brazilian, with hope that they can agree a fee with City this time.
The player himself appears keen on the move, while Tottenham are also set to look at other attacking reinforcements too, especially if Richarlison leaves the club, with Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi high on their shortlist.

According to Brazilian journalist Andre Hernan, Tottenham are one of many European clubs showing an interest in Coritiba winger Lucas Ronier.
Italian clubs are also said to be keen on the diminutive wide man, with the Brazilian club already making it clear they would want a similar deal to when they sold current Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha to Sion in 2017.
Ronier’s contract with Coritiba runs out in less than 18 months, and the 21-year-old is attracting suitors having scored 17 goals and registered a further nine assists in 109 outings for the club.
The 5 ft 4 winger has been described as a player who was ‘born to dribble’ by one Brazilian scouting account.

Tottenham have reportedly made contact over a potential deal to sign Franco Mastantuono from Real Madrid this summer.
Reports suggest that the La Liga giants are ready to sanction a loan move away for the talented 18-year-old, who moved to the Bernabeu last summer having impressed as a teenager for River Plate.
The teenager usually plays behind the striker or on the right-wing, and that versatility could be a key factor in Spurs’ reported interest in the 4-cap Argentina international.
Real will surely demand that the forward plays regular minutes if he does leave the club, and it remains to be seen whether De Zerbi can give that guarantee given he has shown a tendency to favour experience over youth during his time in charge of Tottenham to date.
What is clear is that Mastantuono is a wonderkid with a big future ahead of him and would be a huge coup for Spurs, with Real president Florentino Perez describing him as ‘one of the biggest talents in world football’.

Conor McGregor’s Video Raises Questions About Knee Injury

In said video, the former undisputed UFC featherweight champion looked more than capable of carrying out leg day work despite claiming he would need to undergo surgery on his knee.
The footage seems to show a distinct lack of swelling in the problematic knee, and surgery to rectify that problem has seemingly yet to be undertaken, with eagle-eyed commenters questioning why no surgical scar was present.
While that in itself doesn’t fully prove or disprove claims that McGregor faked the injury, it has led to many questioning if the severity of the damage was overstated.
An alternative narrative is also possible. The striker could very well just be putting in the work on the advice of his camp to strengthen the area around the injury before any operation and another return to the UFC.
What hasn’t helped to disprove the rumours is the relative muteness between both White and McGregor, who have been notably reluctant to share details regarding the setback.
This isn’t the first time the PPV king has been subjected to an ACL issue of this magnitude. In a curious coincidence, it has happened before during his first bout with Max Holloway back in 2013, only in his opposite leg. On that particular night, he was able to pull through and win at the expense of an 11-month absence.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alfie Dorrington is not leaving the club, yet, after performing a last-ditch u-turn on completing a move to Poland.
The 21-year-old looked set to depart Spurs on a permanent basis this summer after Polish side Pogon Szczecin agreed a deal with the north Londoners to sign him.
It looked like the move was sorted, but Dorrington has had a late change of heart and has turned down the chance to move to the continent.
