The Kwankwasiyya Movement has said that unity, discipline, and sacrifice among its members will be key to securing victory for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in a statement issued by the movement’s spokesperson, Hon. Habibu Sale Mohammed, on Saturday, where it commended members who participated in the recently concluded consensus process across various elective positions in Kano State.

The statement praised aspirants who stepped down or accepted the outcomes of the process, describing their conduct as a demonstration of loyalty and political maturity.

“The strength of any political movement lies not only in producing candidates but also in the willingness of members to place collective interests above personal ambition,” the statement said.

According to the movement, the actions of its members have further confirmed that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains one of the most disciplined and ideologically driven political movements in Nigeria.

It also specifically commended Senator Rufai Sani Hanga for stepping aside in support of the consensus arrangement, describing his action as a rare sacrifice and a mark of true leadership.

The statement also acknowledged former Governor and Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya for accepting the movement’s decision on candidates for Kano South, noting that such gestures have strengthened unity within the group.

The movement congratulated all candidates who emerged through the consensus process, including its governorship candidate, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.

According to the statement, their emergence reflects the confidence of the leadership and members.

Kwankwasiyya further urged all candidates to see themselves not just as political contestants but as ambassadors of its ideals.

“They are expected to conduct themselves with humility, discipline, integrity, and commitment to good governance and social justice,” the statement added.

The movement called on members and supporters to remain united and focused, stressing that continued cohesion would help deliver electoral success for the NDC in 2027.
